Senior Full-Stack Software Developer
2023-2025
2023-2025
Before I stepped back to look at the massive, overarching IT networks in Enterprise Architecture, my daily focus was deep in the codebase. During my time as a Senior Full-Stack Developer at Urbint Canada (formerly ComPeters) from May 2023 to March 2025, my job was to build the robust backend systems, cloud infrastructure, and data pipelines that keep enterprise applications running efficiently.
Here is a look at the hands-on engineering challenges I tackled and the features I shipped.
One of the most rewarding challenges during my time at Urbint was bridging a critical communication gap for our clients. They needed a reliable way to engage users in real time, so I architected and deployed a two-way SMS notification system. Rather than relying on legacy monolithic structures, I built this as a highly performant microservice utilizing AWS SNS and Lambda. Balancing strict client deadlines with scalable engineering, this feature rollout ultimately enhanced system response accuracy by 20% and successfully drove real-time user engagement.
A massive part of enterprise software is getting completely different platforms to talk to each other cleanly. I acted as the technical product lead for our third-party API integrations, defining the acceptance criteria for how external data should be handled. External API payloads can be notoriously messy, so I designed and implemented standardized data mapping workflows. By doing this, I ensured seamless interoperability and strict data integrity across our internal systems, no matter how many external integrations we added.
You cannot scale a great application on top of a poorly designed database. As the company grew, our data architecture needed to evolve in tandem. I was responsible for maintaining and optimizing our relational databases. Whenever a new product expansion was on the horizon, I provided data-driven recommendations on how to expand our database schemas, ensuring the backend could comfortably support shifting business requirements.
My time as a full-stack developer gave me a deep, practical appreciation for the nuts and bolts of software engineering. Knowing exactly how cloud infrastructure behaves, how APIs fail, and how databases scale is what ultimately prepared me to guide overarching architectural strategy today.
